BHM Course Overview

The Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM) program offered by Tribhuvan University in Nepal is a comprehensive four-year, eight-semester course designed to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in the dynamic hospitality industry. Eligibility

Eligibility for BHM program in Nepal requires candidates to meet the following criteria:

  1. Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed the 10+2 or equivalent examinations from a recognized academic institute with a second division, securing 45% and above, or a 1.8 CGPA.
  2. English Language Requirement: It is mandatory for candidates to have studied English as a compulsory subject during their 10+2 or equivalent education.

Admission Process

  1. Application: Candidates interested in pursuing the BHM program should obtain the prescribed application form for the entrance test. The application form must be completed and submitted within the designated timeframe.
  2. Document Submission: Along with the application form, candidates must enclose attested copies of their examination certificates and testimonials from all previously passed examinations. Additionally, they need to provide equivalency, transfer, and character certificates. Two recent passport-sized photographs should also be included with the application.
  3. CMAT Examination: Candidates are required to secure a minimum of 40% marks in the CMAT (Common Management Admission Test) conducted by Tribhuvan University. This examination evaluates candidates’ aptitude and readiness for the BHM program.
  4. Admission Test: Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for an admission test, which typically includes a Group Discussion and a Personal Interview. The Group Discussion assesses candidates’ communication skills, teamwork abilities, and critical thinking. The Personal Interview provides an opportunity for candidates to showcase their motivation, goals, and suitability for the program.
  5. Merit List: Admissions to the BHM program are based on a merit list. The merit list is prepared by considering the following factors:
    • 50% of the CMAT Entrance examination marks
    • 30% of marks secured in the 10+2 or equivalent examination
    • 10% for Group Discussion performance
    • 10% for the Personal Interview
