Ingredients
  

For the Dough

  • 2 Cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 Teaspoon salt
  • Water (as needed)

For the Filling

  • 1 Cup finely chopped vegetables (cabbage, carrots, bell peppers, etc.) or minced meat (chicken, pork, or beef)
  • 2 Small onion, finely chopped
  • Cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 Teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 1 Tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 Teaspoon soy sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 2 cups Vegetable or chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • tablespoon Vinegar
  • teaspoon Chili paste (optional)
  • 2 Cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon Vegetable oil
  • Salt to taste

Instructions
 

Prepare the dough

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour and 1 teaspoon of salt.
  • Gradually add water while kneading the mixture until a smooth and pliable dough is formed.
  • Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for about 30 minutes.

Prepare the filling

  • Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
  • Add 2 cloves of minced garlic and 1 teaspoon of grated ginger, and sauté until fragrant.
  • Add 1 small finely chopped onion and cook until translucent.
  • If using minced meat, add it to the pan and cook until it's browned. If using vegetables, add 1 cup of finely chopped vegetables and cook until tender.
  • Season the filling with 1 teaspoon of soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well and remove from heat.

Assemble the momos

  • Take a small portion of the rested dough and roll it into a thin circle on a lightly floured surface.
  • Place a spoonful of the prepared filling in the center of the circle.
  • Fold the circle in half, enclosing the filling, and pinch the edges to seal the dumpling.
  • Repeat the process until all the dough and filling are used.

Steam the momos:

  • Grease a steamer basket or line it with cabbage leaves to prevent sticking.
  • Arrange the assembled momos in the steamer, leaving some space between them.
  • Steam the momos for approximately 10-12 minutes or until the dough is cooked and the filling is tender.
